Birds
Like humans and most other creatures, your bird needs fresh water. There are two schools of thought about using treated water straight from the tap vs. using filtered or bottled water. You are probably aware that treated tap water will likely contain certain chemicals at or below levels set by the government for clean and safe water for human consumption. One of those chemicals is often chlorine which could be beneficial in reducing the amount of bacteria that grows in your bird's water dish. A bird's water can easily become tainted if your bird bathes from this dish, or drops food, toys or poop in the it. That is why some veterinarians recommend using the treated tap water. If you prefer preference to supply your bird with spring or filtered water, it is recommended that you change the water often, even several times a day. Any water or food supplied to your bird should be refreshed whenever you see it has become soiled with debris of any sort. Your bird will love you for it.
